Technical Operations Support
Communication and Network Engineering
Communications with mobile platforms has always been difficult. Previously, platforms had to carry reference material with them or do without. Today, data communications by radio, particularly satellite link, enable deployed or mobile units to draw upon wide panoply of remote resources for support in generating near real-time information. However, certain aspects of communications remain problematical and hamper efficient digital computer-to-computer data exchange.
Our knowledge of data networking and commercial communications architectures allows us to provide solutions for low bandwidth, mobile, and disadvantaged users that overcome typical problems like network congestion, cpu utilization, interface errors, and buffering. We have deployed solutions for mission critical systems on military and civilian land, sea, air, and space-based platforms.
Identity Management
LVI is experienced in delivering identity management functionality for enterprise-grade solutions. These solutions span the range from simple passwords to Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) to systems requiring two or three factor verification where the user must provide a combination of something they have (id card, software token), something they know (password, pin number), and something they are (fingerprint, retinal pattern).
LVI provides Identity Management solutions in the following areas:
- Development of Identity Management policies
- Analysis of Identity Management practices
- Determination of compliance
- Identity Management processes
- Install and implement Identity Management systems
Performance Testing and Metrics
The LVI-DISA team currently provides performance management support to the Global Combat Support Systems (GCSS), Combatant Commands/Joint Task Force (CC/JTF) within the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The team conducts full Command and Control (C2) system and application performance acceptance testing during the GCSS (CC/JTF) pre and post deployment certification stages; monitors, collects, and provide performance data and system metrics on platforms, networks, applications and other relevant components that comprise the GCSS (CC/JTF) environment; and analyzes available real-time monitoring in compliance with Key Performance Parameters (KPP).
The LVI-DISA team recommends metric methodologies and tools, as directed by the government, and provides a system engineering report detailing the benefits, impacts and other pertinent information relative to the methodology or tool. The team also assembles and submits bi-monthly In Progress Reviews (IPRs) with financial reports of detailed labor categories/hours, expenditures per work packages, deliverables, and variances as expended by the subtask.
