Law Enforcement

LVI has developed expertise in Enterprise Architectures, and Data Management for law enforcement applications. One recent success features tools and techniques derived from the Semantic Web and the ontological community (e.g. OpenCyc) to enable better definition of critical case file data from diverse sources which improved the performance of the Law Enforcement analyst. The end result was increased data sharing and the ability to find relevant material in an ever-increasing abundance of data. The architecture supports the ability to trace the data to original sources to assist the gathering of information to provide evidence for individual cases.

LVI uses its specialized knowledge in providing to our customers Semantic Knowledge Modeling and Discovery. Several ontological tools and techniques exist that provide a comprehensive framework for semantic knowledge modeling, searching, sharing and tracking knowledge across the enterprise. Semantic solutions empower data-rich organizations in a broad range of industries to leverage the full potential of the knowledge that drives complex analysis and informed decision-making. Many of these solutions are built around Resource Definition Format (RDF) and Web Ontology Language (OWL) and the reasoning capabilities these methodologies provide.
